Ged Brown is the Founder & CEO of Low Season Traveller, creator of the Tourism Seasonality Summit, and one of the travel industry's most distinctive voices on the structural challenge of tourism seasonality.

Ged Brown created the Tourism Seasonality Summit in 2024 to give the global travel and tourism industry its first dedicated forum for tackling the structural challenge of seasonality. Now in its third year and co-produced with Routes (Aviation Week Network, Informa), the Summit brings together leaders from airlines, airports, destinations, hotels, cruise lines, tourism authorities and technology providers to develop practical strategies for redistributing tourism demand across the calendar year.
His conviction that seasonality is the travel industry's most consequential structural problem grew over a 30-year career that took him from high street travel agencies through tour operations, aviation route development and destination marketing. He held senior roles at Thomas Cook, MyTravel Group, Kuoni, TUI and Routes, giving him an operational understanding of how seasonal demand patterns affect every level of the tourism value chain, from the hotel owner closing for five months of the year to the airline pulling capacity from a route because winter load factors cannot justify the service.
In 2018, he founded Low Season Traveller, the world's first multimedia platform dedicated exclusively to promoting travel during destinations' low seasons. What began as a response to the accelerating overtourism crisis has grown into a media and destination marketing operation spanning a digital magazine, two podcasts, a television strand and partnerships with tourism organisations worldwide.
In 2026, Brown co-founded Ember, an invitation-only senior industry gathering designed to foster candid, off-the-record dialogue on the sector's most pressing challenges. He serves on the management board of the World Tourism Association for Culture & Heritage and is based in Manchester, UK.
Ged delivers keynote speeches at international travel and tourism events, bringing 30 years of operational experience and a founder's urgency to a topic that affects every destination, airline and hotel on earth. His talks are practical, direct and built around the central thesis that the travel industry's concentration of demand into narrow peak windows is its single greatest sustainability failure.
Not a consultant. A founder. He built the platform, the conference and the movement. He speaks from the front line, not the sideline.
Operator credibility. 30 years across Thomas Cook, Kuoni, TUI and Routes means he understands tour ops, airlines, airports and destinations from the inside.
Global range. Keynoted at ITB Berlin, WTM, CAPA, PATA, IMEX, Seatrade, Routes World and events across four continents. Adapts to ministerial audiences and trade floors alike.
The foundational keynote. Why 70% of tourists arriving in six months is a structural crisis, not a scheduling inconvenience. What it costs destinations, airlines and communities, and what the industry must do differently.
From destination marketing and airline route incentives to pricing strategy and product diversification. Real-world approaches drawn from partnerships with DMOs, airports and tourism boards across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Why caps, taxes and visitor limits treat the symptom rather than the cause. The case for temporal redistribution as the most effective and economically sustainable response to overtourism.
How to reframe the low season as an asset rather than a liability. Consumer insights, campaign mechanics and the psychology of persuading travellers to go against the crowd.
Which comes first: the route or the demand? How destinations and airlines can collaborate to maintain year-round connectivity, drawn from Brown's career in aviation route development.
